Chapter Index

“You know I’ve waited for you for so long…”

A flash of eagerness and loneliness crossed Ji Mian’s eyes as he spoke pitifully.

“I also want to make you mine forever, right now… but Mianmian, your university life has just begun. I don’t want you to have any regrets later!”

Wei Yichen sighed softly, comforting him.

Because he cherished him, he was unwilling to tie him down so early.

His Mianmian deserved to be treasured!

At the mention of university, Ji Mian felt very troubled.

Although he had taken Ji Shuangyu’s place at the top university, he was a terrible student. If his father hadn’t forced him to network with powerful people, he wouldn’t want to go to school at all. He hated studying!

“Nothing is more important than you. For you, I’m willing.”

Ji Mian confessed with deep affection.

“I know you love me, but I also know you’re an outstanding student. I don’t want to bury your talent!”

Wei Yichen shook his head, his eyes filled with pity.

In the past, omegas had no rights. They couldn’t attend regular schools and could only go to exclusive omega schools to learn how to be the perfect bride.

No company in society was willing to hire an omega either, because their monthly heat period was too troublesome. Not only did it easily cause chaos in the company, but they also had to take leave during their heat.

In recent years, thanks to the Empress consistently fighting for omega welfare, the societal prejudice against omegas had lessened.

Omegas could now attend regular schools, and some companies were willing to hire them.

However, the “caged bird” mentality of omegas couldn’t be changed overnight. So, although society had opened up, very few omegas were willing to walk this incredibly difficult path.

They preferred to be pampered from a young age and marry an Alpha from a well-off family after coming of age.

But his Mianmian was different from other omegas. He had been independent and had dreams since he was young, and he had even gotten into the country’s top institution, Yuesi University, with his own intelligence. Whether in the past or now, he was so attractive to him!

How could he not pity him, not love him.

Wei Yichen was unwilling to let Ji Mian be constrained and was more than happy to use his own hands to lift him to greater heights!

A phone rang, interrupting their tender moment.

Wei Yichen glanced at the caller ID; it was his father.

    “Dad, what’s wrong?”

He answered the call and asked lazily.

    “Are you with Ji Mian?”

Wei Sheng asked directly, his tone unpleasant.

“I am. Someone used an inducer on me, causing my susceptibility period to start early. It was Mianmian who helped me again…”

Wei Yichen keenly sensed his father’s bad mood and immediately started talking up Ji Mian in a roundabout way.

“Bring him back. I have something to ask him!”

Wei Sheng cut him off, spoke coldly, and hung up.

The latter was bewildered but didn’t overthink it. He stroked Ji Mian’s head. “Mianmian, my dad wants to see you. Freshen up, and we’ll go home to meet the parents.”

Is this it? Are we making it official?

    We’ll get engaged soon, right?

Ji Mian’s heart soared with joy. He nodded shyly and wrapped his arms around Wei Yichen’s neck coquettishly. “Hubby, I can’t walk. Can you carry me to the shower?”

Wei Yichen was aroused by his actions and couldn’t help but chuckle as he reached up to flick his nose. “You little temptress, trying to seduce me again. It’s been three days, haven’t I satisfied you yet?”

    “I don’t care, I don’t care. I just want my hubby to hold me…”

The two playfully entered the bathroom, where their passion ignited once more. It wasn’t until two hours later that they finally left the hotel hand-in-hand, heading for the Wei family residence.

“Dad, I brought Mianmian back… What are you doing here!”

Wei Yichen entered with a beaming smile, but before he could finish his sentence, his expression changed the moment he saw Shuang Yu. He questioned him in a cold voice.

“Xiao Yu, what are you doing here?”

Ji Mian had a bad feeling, but he didn’t show it at all, greeting him with a sweet smile.

Shuang Yu looked at the intimate marks on his exposed skin, then glanced at the displeased Wei Yichen beside him, a playful, cold smile crossing his lips.

For some reason, that smile was extremely jarring to Wei Yichen, making him feel intensely uncomfortable.

What does he mean by that?

    “I-It was the D-Duke W-Wei who in-invited me.”

Shuang Yu shifted his gaze away indifferently, his tone cool.

“Dad, do you know he used an inducer on me? I’ll handle this myself…”

Wei Yichen frowned, looking at Wei Sheng.

The latter raised a hand impatiently, signaling him to shut up. He picked up the file from the table and threw it in front of them, questioning Ji Mian.

“This is your report card, isn’t it?”

Ji Mian jumped in fright, his eyes turning red as he tremblingly bent down to pick up the papers from the floor.

The more he looked, the paler his face became.

Beside him, Wei Yichen’s expression also grew somewhat stiff when he saw the report card.

These grades… how could they be so… so pathetic?

The report card showed that Ji Mian had F’s in every single course, both required and elective!

Not a single subject was passed, which meant he would have to retake everything this year!

    This shouldn’t be possible.

Ji Mian’s college entrance exam score was a perfect 750, ranking first in the nation.

Yuesi University had promised him numerous benefits to persuade him to enroll. He was a genius among geniuses, so why would he get such low scores?!

    Wei Yichen was utterly baffled.

“I… I wasn’t feeling well before the exams because of my heat period, so I did poorly… I’m sorry…”

Ji Mian explained with red-rimmed eyes, his timid appearance displeasing Wei Sheng.

This child, why is he so different from how I remember him?

“What, are you in heat 365 days a year?”

    Wei Sheng sneered, questioning him.

University grades weren’t based solely on final exams; professors also considered students’ regular performance and tests for the final grade.

Ji Mian having F’s in every subject meant his usual performance must have been terrible.

    “Dad, you’re scaring Mianmian!”

Wei Yichen, eager to protect his mate, shielded the trembling, petite omega behind him and warned with a slight frown.

“You fool! Your damned romance-obsessed brain will be the death of you one day.”

The stern Wei Sheng cursed angrily.

“Mianmian is an omega. It’s already a miracle that he got into Yuesi University. So what if his grades are bad? Grades aren’t the only measure of a person.

He’s the omega I’ve chosen. Even if he’s completely useless, I will never despise him!”

    Wei Yichen said coldly.

He felt not only love for Ji Mian, but also a great deal of guilt.

Ji Mian had even suffered gland damage for his sake, becoming a Common Omega. He owed him a debt he could never repay in this lifetime.

Although he was also puzzled as to why Ji Mian’s grades had dropped so drastically, he would absolutely not blame him at a time like this. Instead, he would support him unwaveringly!

“Hah, with his brain-dead intellect, how could he have possibly gotten into Yuesi University if not for some underhanded scheme!”

Wei Sheng sneered, his eyes filled with dislike for Ji Mian.

He had thought this was a well-behaved omega, but now it seemed it was best to get rid of him as soon as possible.

“What do you mean by that?”

    Wei Yichen questioned him aggressively.
