Chapter 14 – Meeting Grandpa
Xiao Qi was so angry that he didn’t catch the hidden meaning in Fei Xiangnan’s words, instead continuing along Fei Xiangnan’s line of thought. “Then don’t have too much contact with him. He and you are not from the same world!”
Fei Xiangnan didn’t answer his question, but instead gave him a deep look.
He suddenly felt that people were just masochistic. When you liked someone, no matter how outrageous they were, you’d call it personality. But once they started to fade from your world, you would realize just how inappropriate and rude their words were.
With that thought, Fei Xiangnan looked down at Xiao Qi, no longer able to find any feeling from that handsome face.
“Xiao Qi, what do you think gives you the right to speak to me like this?” His voice wasn’t loud, but it felt so unfamiliar to Xiao Qi. After all, since the first time he met Fei Xiangnan, he had never spoken to him this way. Instead, he had always used a frivolous tone to test his limits.
Xiao Qi’s mouth, which was about to say something, closed again. A belated sense of fear finally rose in his heart.
Fei Xiangnan stood with one hand in his pocket, staring at him coldly. He parted his lips and said, “You should be grateful that I let you go. When you see me, you should obediently take a detour. Do you really think that just because I have Xiao Fang now, we have some kind of family relationship? Heh, don’t be so sentimental. If you bother me again, it’s just a matter of spending some money. Ruining Yunyang Company is a matter of minutes.”
Cold and dangerous words spilled from Fei Xiangnan’s mouth. In this calm state, Fei Xiangnan said the words that frightened Xiao Qi the most.
Xiao Qi stumbled back a few steps in fear, the defiant flame in his eyes gone. He was scared. The moment Yan Yunyang was mentioned, he instinctively weakened, because everything had started with Yunyang Company.
“You…” Xiao Qi trembled, but he didn’t know what to say.
Fei Xiangnan let out a sneer, as if mocking this showy peacock who looked so proud but actually had no cards to play. He then walked towards the film set.
It wasn’t until they were about a hundred meters apart that Xiao Qi truly breathed a sigh of relief. He finally understood that this man had lost all interest in him. The previous madness and possessiveness seemed like a dream.
Xiao Qi forced himself to stand there and relax for a moment before starting the car and driving away.

Xiao Fang finally finished the last scene of the day. Soaked to the bone, he was about to head back to the hotel with the crew to change when Que Jiang walked over with a grave expression.
Xiao Fang’s heart skipped a beat for no reason. Could something have happened?
“Young Master Xiao, you should hurry and change your clothes,” Que Jiang whispered in his ear. Xiao Ma, watching from the side, felt his heart itch with envy. This guy was really taking every opportunity to whisper in Brother Xiao’s ear. What a formalist, hmph!
Xiao Fang’s heart trembled. “I’ll go back to the hotel.”
“President Fei is here. He asked for your location two hours ago,” Que Jiang’s words shattered all of Xiao Fang’s lingering hopes.
Fear slowly crept into Xiao Fang’s eyes. Based on President Fei’s travel time, the hotel wasn’t that far from here. Two hours meant…
Xiao Fang glanced left and right and remembered the crew’s temporary changing room. It was about a five-minute walk from here. If he ran as fast as he could, he could probably cut that down by two minutes. Add another minute to change clothes, for a total of four minutes. If fate gave him four minutes, he would surely survive!
Xiao Fang shot out from his spot with the speed of a thunderbolt. Que Jiang only felt a gust of wind rush past him, and then Xiao Fang was gone.
When it came to the motivation for self-preservation, no one could surpass Xiao Fang.
“Xiao Fang, where are you going?” A slightly raised voice, hiding an underlying authority, brought Xiao Fang to a screeching halt. This progress bar was a bit off.
Xiao Fang was frozen in place, not knowing whether to go forward or back. Slowly, slowly, the sound of footsteps grew closer. Xiao Fang could feel the hair on his body stand on end.
“Oh? Soaked? Are you trying to train to be a swimming champion early? Or are you feeling hot and want to cool down?”
The staff on the side looked curiously at the man who had suddenly barged in. Xiao Qi, who had been trailing behind, also got out of his car, but for some reason, he didn’t feel like calling Zhang Hang to leave right away.
Xiao Fang turned around stiffly, a fawning smile quickly appearing on his face. Fei Xiangnan stood before him with a dark expression, yet a strange smile hung on his face, making one’s skin crawl.
Xiao Fang swallowed hard. Ignoring the sticky discomfort of his clothes, he put on a one-hundred-percent service smile and said, “President Fei, what brings you here? This remote countryside is hardly worthy of your noble presence.”
Fei Xiangnan sneered, looking at Xiao Fang’s soaked appearance. Aside from looking foolish, he just felt annoyed. It wasn’t quite summer yet, and the artificial rain from this crew definitely wouldn’t be warm water for a nice bath. If he had known, he would have been better off not letting him come to work. Why bother with such thankless, hard work? It wasn’t like he, Fei Xiangnan, couldn’t support one Xiao Fang.
Fei Xiangnan first shot a look at Que Jiang. The usually calm Que Jiang now lowered his head, unsettled. After all, this was a failure of his supervision.
“To dare to defy me and mistreat your body like this, Xiao Fang,” Fei Xiangnan smiled sweetly, “your guts have grown, haven’t they?”
Thump.
Xiao Fang’s knees went weak, and he almost knelt right there. If everyone wasn’t watching, he would have definitely cried and explained the reason to Fei Xiangnan. But now was not the time. To stop himself from kneeling, Xiao Fang tenaciously grabbed Fei Xiangnan’s arm, his eyes pleading.
President Fei, give me a chance.
Xiao Qi, watching from the side, suddenly felt that Fei Xiangnan wasn’t genuinely good to Xiao Fang. He didn’t even show him the most basic courtesy. Why did he get together with him then? For fun?
Fei Xiangnan could see the strong desire for survival in Xiao Fang’s eyes. Although he really wanted to smack this disobedient creature right now, to avoid causing too much trouble, it was better to take this fool away sooner rather than later.
“Let’s go,” Fei Xiangnan said after looking at Xiao Fang for a long while, right as Xiao Fang was on the verge of collapse.
Xiao Fang immediately nodded obediently. He gave Director Hu a look and then trotted after him, leaving a lot of confusion in his wake.
“What… what the… isn’t that…” Xiao Ma finally snapped out of his surprise. Wasn’t that Brother Xiao’s new boyfriend?
Suddenly, a hand covered Xiao Ma’s mouth, stopping the gossip that was about to spill out. A cold voice sounded by his ear, “It would be very beneficial for you to speak less.”
Director Hu looked at the two departing figures, bewildered. “Que Jiang, who was that who just came? He seemed rather hostile.”
Director Hu voiced the question on behalf of the entire crew.
Zhang Hang also looked surprised. If he wasn’t mistaken, tsk tsk.
“His cousin,” Que Jiang said with a cold face, shattering most people’s fantasies. “Young Master Xiao had already arranged to have dinner with his cousin. His cousin has doted on him since they were young. He was just a little heartbroken seeing him soaked in the rain just now.”
Among them, only Director Hu hadn’t let his imagination run wild. He smiled embarrassedly, “It was indeed a bit much, but in this industry, you have to endure some hardship. To an outsider, it does look a bit rough.”
Zhang Hang watched their retreating backs and fell into deep thought. They didn’t look like cousins at all.
Fei Xiangnan, dressed in light casual wear, walked quickly ahead, while Xiao Fang, in his soaked costume, struggled to keep up behind him, a fawning smile on his face. How did this look like a little star clinging to his gold-daddy sponsor’s thigh?
It turned out that Zhang Hang’s intuition was sometimes the most accurate.
Fei Xiangnan was furious the whole way but had no way to vent. Perhaps to Xiao Fang, the reason he was angry was solely because of the child. But it was, and it wasn’t. Right now, he just felt that his person, Fei Xiangnan’s person, didn’t need to suffer this kind of hardship.
“President Fei, President Fei, please slow down. What did you call me for today? Why don’t I go to the hotel and change first? It’s not good to go out like this, and I can’t get in your car looking like this. How about I take a taxi to the hotel first, and you wait for me for a little bit? It won’t be long. I’ll gallop like a horse for President Fei, and as soon as I’m changed, I’ll be at your service immediately. The child is also very healthy, with no adverse reactions usually. Que Jiang gives me a cup of ginger tea right after every scene, and now I can feel the endless… human kindness and warmth from you, President Fei. And also, and also…”
Fei Xiangnan stopped abruptly. Xiao Fang, who was walking behind, almost crashed into him. Remembering his cannon fodder fate that hung by a thread, Xiao Fang immediately slammed on the brakes with his hind hooves, preventing his idiotic, life-threatening behavior.
Looking at the noble Maybach parked in front of him, Xiao Fang immediately understood the big boss’s meaning. It was a pity it was a sedan. If it were an SUV, he could have served as a human doormat for the big boss to use.
“President Fei, please,” Xiao Fang said, knowledgeably opening the car door.
“Ah, not being able to drive for President Fei is truly a great regret in my life. But, I can’t let my current state dirty the eyes of this noble car. President Fei, please get in,” Xiao Fang said with a pained heart and great emotion.
Fei Xiangnan looked at him with a complex expression. He didn’t know how this person’s acting was, but he knew his ability to act in front of him was top-notch.
“President Fei?” Seeing that Fei Xiangnan didn’t move, Xiao Fang began to suspect his service was subpar. Damn it, he should have brought a cup of water just now. President Fei might be thirsty after a two-hour drive and in a bad mood, not wanting to talk to him. Sigh, what a fool he was.
“President Fei, why don’t you first… eh?” A large suit jacket was unexpectedly draped over his shoulders. Xiao Fang confirmed again and again that it was from Fei Xiangnan, and he was so shocked he almost couldn’t stand straight.
“Pres-President Fei,” Xiao Fang said, startled, like a frightened little deer.
Fei Xiangnan’s eyes darkened. He said, “If you have time to talk so much, you might as well get going sooner.”
Xiao Fang scratched his head embarrassedly. “President Fei, it will get your car dirty. I should just take a taxi…”
“We’re meeting my grandfather today. Don’t waste time.” Fei Xiangnan never wasted words, getting straight to the point.
Xiao Fang also understood the importance of the matter. The usual Fei Xiangnan would have definitely made a few sarcastic remarks. He hadn’t expected to get to the main event in less than two weeks. President Fei’s grandfather, ah, that was a terrifying figure. In the original book, when Fei Xiangnan was madly in love with Xiao Qi and willing to do anything, this grandfather stepped in and broke his own grandson’s legs without batting an eye.
Thinking of this, Xiao Fang immediately put away his slacker attitude and got into the car without hesitation.
“Understood, President Fei. I will do my best.”
Seeing the man sitting bolt upright, a hint of a smile appeared in Fei Xiangnan’s eyes. Now this was more comfortable to look at.
Fei Xiangnan got into the driver’s seat and started the car.

“Brother Xiao, aren’t you leaving?” Zhang Hang asked probingly, seeing Xiao Qi standing by the side in a daze.
Xiao Qi watched as that man draped a coat over Xiao Fang. He was such a proud person, yet he would do something like this. Could it be… that the two of them really fell in love at first sight?
“Brother Xiao?”
Xiao Qi snapped back to his senses and said in a deep voice, “Yes. Let’s go to your favorite restaurant. Your brother should be back by now too.”
