Chapter 144 – The White Moonlight is Forcibly Loved by the Substitute 42
The woman’s body trembled like a leaf in the wind, her eyes filled with terror as she nodded.
“Is Shan Zhiping in the bedroom?” Jingmo asked gently.
The woman nodded quickly.
“Very good. Do you know what you should do?” Jingmo released her, toying with a blade in his hand as he asked with a smile.
“I-I don’t know anything. I-I’ll leave. I have nothing to do with him. I-I’m just his friend with benefits… D-don’t kill me…” The woman hugged her head and squatted on the ground, sobbing and pleading.
He ignored her, stepping into the house and walking straight towards the lit bedroom. Inside, a chubby, completely naked man was fast asleep and snoring. Seeing his target, a faint smile appeared on Jingmo’s lips as he entered the room and closed the door.
Rumble—
A clap of thunder echoed. Meng Ying, who rarely had nightmares, sat up in bed, drenched in sweat. In his dream, Si Shuang Yu had shot him in the head. The dream had been too real, especially those brilliant yet cold, glass-like eyes, which remained vivid in his memory.
His phone rang. He wiped the sweat from his forehead and answered.
“Brother Yu, something’s happened…”
His subordinate’s words instantly plunged him into an icy abyss. It was Si Shuang Yu’s doing; he had come back for revenge! Damn it, he would probably be next. He would absolutely not sit back and wait for death!
“Brother Meng, why not sleep a little longer…” a pair of large hands gripped his waist as a man’s groggy voice sounded.
“Brother Meng, you’ve almost drained us dry, and you’re still not satisfied?” another pair of hands wrapped around him from behind, asking with a light laugh.
On the large bed, there were a total of five people lying there! And every single one of them bore some resemblance to Gu Qiyan.
Damn you, Si Shuang Yu… If it weren’t for him, he wouldn’t have become so promiscuous! The only one who should have been in his bed was A-Yan! Old grudges and new hatreds, it was time to settle them one by one!
A ruthless glint flashed in his eyes as murderous intent rose in Meng Ying’s heart.

The downpour continued. Jingmo sat in the car, a satisfied smile on his lips as he crossed out the last target’s name for the night in his notebook. The densely filled page was covered in red lines, with only two black names remaining: Gu Qiyan and Meng Ying.
“Don’t worry, Yu. Soon, all these bastards who tormented you will go to hell,” Jingmo muttered, a vicious look in his eyes.
What should he do? He missed Yu. Yu was so cruel, not contacting him for so long. It was fine. If Yu wouldn’t come to him, he would go to Yu. But what method should he use to get Yu to take him in?
His eyes curved into crescents. Jingmo licked his dry lips, his eyes filled with a morbid fanaticism. He started the car, slammed on the accelerator, and the car sped off into the rainy mist.
“Hey Siri, call Yu,” he said cheerfully.
“Calling Yu…”
Ring… Ring… Ring…
After a long while, the call was finally answered.
“Xiao Mo?” Shuang Yu’s overly weary voice came through.
“Yu, I miss you a little…” Jingmo let out a seductive, soft laugh and said gently.
What the hell was this kid thinking, not sleeping in the middle of the night! Shuang Yu was completely bewildered, his face frosted over with sleep deprivation and unfulfilled desire. Something was very wrong with his body recently. He hadn’t had a good night’s sleep in a long time.
“Don’t be crazy, go to sleep. We can have dinner together tomorrow afternoon…” Sighing, the soft-hearted Shuang Yu suppressed his frustration and said.
“I’m on my way to your villa. Wait for me, Yu!” Jingmo said slowly, licking his lips, a devilish curve forming on his own.
Calculating the angle, he slammed the accelerator to the floor without hesitation, and the car hurtled straight towards the guardrail on the road. Before Shuang Yu could say anything, he heard a massive crash through the phone.
Bang—
In an instant, his heart plunged into a bottomless abyss. A flash of lightning illuminated everything around. Inside the car, Jingmo’s lips curled up slightly. His blood-stained hand slowly rose to caress Shuang Yu’s photo on the screen before he quickly sank into endless darkness.
“Xiao Mo? Jingmo… speak!” Shuang Yu’s face turned deathly pale in an instant, his voice trembling as he shouted.
From the other end of the line, there was nothing but the sound of the heavy rain. He threw off the covers, rushed out of bed, and quickly called Cheng Meng.
“Brother Yu? What’s wrong…” Cheng Meng’s groggy voice sounded.
“Track Jingmo’s location immediately, quickly…” Shuang Yu’s voice was filled with unease and fear.
About half an hour later, a blood-soaked, unconscious Jingmo was carried out of an ambulance and rushed into the operating room. Soon after, Shuang Yu, dressed in pajamas, one foot in a slipper and the other bare, drenched by the heavy rain like a drowned rat, frantically rushed into the hospital.
“Hello, sir, is there anything I can help you with?” The receptionist saw his pale face and took the initiative to ask.
“Someone was brought here from a car accident a short while ago. I’m his friend!” Shuang Yu said, panting.
“The patient is still in surgery. Please don’t worry. Have some hot water to warm yourself up.”
“Thank you… I’ll handle his admission paperwork first.”
About an hour later, Shi Letian and the other two also arrived at the hospital.
“Brother Yu, are you okay?!” The three of them saw Shuang Yu’s disheveled state and looked anxious.
“There are slippers and a towel in the trunk. I’ll go get them for Xiao Yu,” Shi Letian said with a slight frown, glancing at his foot before turning to get the shoes.
Song Heng quickly took off his own suit jacket and draped it over him.
“How’s the little brat?” Shuang Yu’s face was deathly pale as he shook his head, his heart in his throat, completely unable to calm down.
“I don’t know, he’s still in surgery…”
He blamed himself. If he had agreed to let Jingmo live with him, then he wouldn’t have gotten into an accident. He even suspected that Jingmo’s accident was his fault. After all, there were too many people who wanted him dead!
“Brother, don’t worry too much. That kid is tough. He won’t die so easily,” Cheng Meng patted his shoulder, comforting him.
“Is there any movement from Meng Ying and the other families?” Shuang Yu’s voice was filled with exhaustion.
“It should just be a simple accident. The specific situation still needs further investigation,” Song Heng replied, pushing up his glasses.
The people tailing them hadn’t noticed anything unusual. To determine if they were responsible, they would have to investigate the condition of Jingmo’s car.
The light above the operating room went out, and soon, a doctor walked out. The group hurried over to him.
“Don’t worry, the patient’s condition is very stable,” the doctor proactively reassured them, explaining Jingmo’s condition.
The airbag had deployed during the accident, protecting his vital organs. He only had a mild concussion, a fractured right arm, and a broken left leg.
