Chapter 146 – The White Moonlight is Forcibly Loved by the Substitute 44
A sinister smile spread across Jingmo’s lips as he limped towards the king-size bed on his crutches. The mattress dipped slightly as he sat on the edge of the bed. He leaned over slightly, gently caressing Shuang Yu’s sleeping face.
The sleeping Shuang Yu groggily woke up.
Strange, did I forget to turn off the power yesterday?
Just as he was wondering, a deep, sexy voice sounded.
“Yu, you’re awake!”
Shuang Yu opened his eyes, and what greeted him was Jingmo’s overly radiant smile. And even more prominent than his smile was what he was toying with in his hand…
“This is the first time I’ve seen the real thing. It seems quite complete, doesn’t it?” Jingmo tilted his head slightly, a smile that was both teasing and innocent on his face as he spoke.
Shuang Yu was speechless. Very good, he was finally experiencing what social death felt like! He snatched the object and threw it out the window, then cleared his throat and said hoarsely, “Why are you here? Are you feeling alright?”
The other man immediately switched to a pitiful expression and threw himself onto him like a delicate bird.
“Yu, I heard from Uncle Song that you fainted. I was so worried, so I came to see you! No matter how busy you are, you have to take care of yourself!”
When the little Jingmo used to press on him, he was light and soft, like a pillow. But now, Shuang Yu felt like a large rock was crushing his chest, and he was about to suffocate! Didn’t this brat have any idea how heavy he was?
Shuang Yu was helpless. He wanted to push him away but was afraid he might pull at his wounds. “It’s just a little sleep deprivation, nothing serious. But you, being discharged when you’re this injured, are you sure you’re okay?” he said, glossing over the real issue. He was too embarrassed to admit he had fainted from unfulfilled desire and lack of rest.
“It hurts, it hurts so much… Yu, don’t you know magic? Can you help heal me like you used to?” Jingmo rubbed against his chest, whining in a deep, sexy baritone that could charm the soul out of anyone.
Shuang Yu felt his body stirring and quickly suppressed the lustful thoughts in his heart. He raised his hand and lightly tapped his shoulder. “That’s enough. You’re a grown man, still acting spoiled. Aren’t you ashamed?”
“But it really hurts. I ran too fast, and my head is still a little dizzy…” Jingmo whined twice, acting pitifully.
Shuang Yu gave up the struggle almost instantly and cast a spell to heal his injuries.
“It’s warm, it doesn’t hurt as much now. So, Yu, have you been practicing some kind of ancient martial arts?” Jingmo asked softly, lying lazily on top of him.
“Something like that. So how did you get into the car accident? Did someone try to kill you?”
“Not at all. I just missed you so much that I was driving too fast, and the car skidded and hit the guardrail.”
Shuang Yu was speechless. You brat! Without a second thought, he immediately stopped casting the spell.
The warm feeling disappeared. Jingmo looked up in confusion, blinking his clear, glass-like eyes at him, silently asking why he had stopped.
“Let it hurt. That way you’ll learn your lesson. Speeding? I’m surprised it didn’t kill you!” Shuang Yu snorted coldly, pushing him away with a look of disgust.
“I was wrong, Yu… Don’t be angry, okay… I’ll be careful when I drive in the future, I’ll never go over twenty kilometers per hour…”
“At twenty, why even drive? Just walk. And stop trying to be cute, I’m a man of principle!”
“Mmm, Yu is right. I should be taught a lesson. Even though it hurts, I’ll endure it. Yu… can I stay here with you for a while? Um… Mr. Gu sent me here. He wants me to protect you and… and monitor you…” Jingmo, looking like he didn’t know how to bring it up, blurted out Gu Qiyan’s scheme.
Shuang Yu’s expression instantly turned cold. That bastard will never change his ways!
“What else did he do?”
Given Gu Qiyan’s suspicious and cautious nature, it was impossible that he would just send Jingmo over like this. He must have done something else!
“Um… he also injected me with a slow-acting poison. He said I need to take an antidote every month to stay alive!” Jingmo said honestly.
Shuang Yu rapped him on the head. “Are you crazy? You actually agreed to that!”
“Yes, I agreed. As long as I can be by Yu’s side, I’m willing to do anything!” Jingmo’s previously spoiled demeanor vanished. His resolute face was filled with sincerity and forbearance as he spoke in a hoarse voice.
His overly fervent gaze held a trembling flame, an abyss, and… a deep affection that made Shuang Yu subconsciously want to flee.
“Jingmo, are you…” His voice trembled as he hesitated to speak.
“Yes!” the other man replied without any concealment.
He’s crazy… There’s a fifteen-year age gap between them! Shuang Yu looked away in a panic, suddenly not knowing how to face him.
“Yu, you don’t have to respond to my feelings. I only ask that you don’t drive me away… As for becoming your lover, that’s something I wouldn’t even dare to dream of… So I’ve already prepared myself. I don’t care whether you accept or reject me. You just need to know that my feelings for you are not as shallow as mere love. Even if we can’t be lovers, you will still be the most important person to me… the person I would risk my life to protect!”
His eyes softened as Jingmo gently took Shuang Yu’s hand and confessed. That overly sincere expression, that husky, deep voice that trembled slightly, was like an arrow that struck Shuang Yu’s heart, making it pound like a frightened deer.
“You little thing, you’re going to protect me like this? With your broken arm and crippled leg?” He coughed awkwardly and teasingly tapped the cast on his arm.
“Hiss… it hurts, Yu,” Jingmo hissed, his voice softening as he acted spoiled.
“You brat. I’ll figure out how to detoxify you first,” Shuang Yu snorted.
Jingmo watched him quietly, his fervent eyes filled with a focused, dazed look, and his heart uncontrollably fell for him again. Feeling uneasy under his gaze, he awkwardly changed the subject.
“For the time being, you can stay here. I’ll deal with Gu Qiyan myself. You just need to do as he says.”
“Okay, thank you, Yu,” Jingmo nodded, a satisfied smile on his face.
“Yu, go wash up and let’s go downstairs for lunch. I think we should share the information we have.” Jingmo raised his hand and gently tucked a long strand of hair from his cheek behind his ear, speaking softly.
