Chapter Index

“I won’t be here, so you all need to be extra careful. When you’re out there, you must ensure your own safety. These are Peace Talismans I got from the temple. You have to wear them.” Shuang Yu handed the talismans to the group, repeatedly reminding them out of concern.

He himself had to stay behind as a decoy. At this critical juncture, he absolutely could not leave Tianning, lest he alert the enemy. Therefore, he could only entrust this mission entirely to Jingmo and Song Heng. Shuang Yu was very worried they would get into trouble, but the current situation didn’t allow him to go personally. In the end, he had to settle for the next best thing: personally crafting Life-Saving Talismans. These inconspicuous talismans held great power, capable of blocking a fatal blow for each of them.

“Bro, since when did you start believing in ghosts and gods…” Cheng Meng said, unsure whether to laugh or cry.

“Believing in ghosts and gods is a form of faith too. Be good and wear it. At least it’ll put my mind at ease. And don’t forget how long it’s been since you’ve been on a mission yourselves. How could I not be worried…” Shuang Yu sighed, the worry in his eyes not diminishing in the slightest.

Jingmo silently watched their intimate interactions, a feeling of jealousy once again stirring in his heart. He had been away from Yu for thirteen long years. In those thirteen years, these three had been with Yu day and night. In Yu’s heart, his weight probably couldn’t compare to theirs… How… infuriatingly jealous it made him. They were such an eyesore. If only they would disappear, how wonderful would that be…

“Xiao Mo.” Having finished instructing the three, Shuang Yu turned to look at the downcast Jingmo.

“Yes, Yu.” Jingmo quickly concealed his terrifying expression. The moment he looked up, he had seamlessly transformed back into that sunny teenager.

“Be extra careful. I’m entrusting the three of them to you,” Shuang Yu said with solemnity.

He knew very well that even if this mission failed, as long as a powerhouse like Jingmo spared a little effort to look after the three of them, they would definitely be fine. It was because of this trust that he personally entrusted them to him. But Shuang Yu didn’t know that his request would only make Jingmo even more jealous.

“Yes, I’ll bring them back safely even if I have to die trying, Yu!” the latter promised with a brilliant smile and a nod.

“Who asked you to die trying? It’s not just them; you have to come back safely too,” Shuang Yu corrected, reaching out to pinch his cheek.

“I know. You’re here, so I’m not going anywhere. I want to stay by your side for a lifetime!” Jingmo’s sweet nothings came pouring out effortlessly.

“Alright, alright, you two can stop being so mushy. It’s like a life-or-death parting. Don’t be so tense, just think of it as a vacation abroad,” Cheng Meng urged with a casual air. He knew this mission would be dangerous, but he didn’t want Tong Tong and Shuang Yu to worry, so he deliberately used a nonchalant tone to put their minds at ease.

“You must come back safely. When you get back, we’ll get married!” Tong Tong said, suppressing the anxiety in her heart and forcing a smile.

“Holy crap, wifey, I’m holding you to that! Just you wait, we’ll go get the papers when I get back.” The latter excitedly picked her up and spun her around before leaning in for a passionate kiss.

    “Let’s move out!”

The group got into the car, which then drove away from the manor.

“Brother Yu, they’ll be okay, right?” As soon as they left, Tong Tong could no longer hold back, her eyes red as she asked in a trembling voice.

“Yes. I swear on my life, they will come back alive…” Shuang Yu nodded, suppressing his own unease and speaking with conviction.

At three in the morning, the four of them arrived at the airport in C Country. Jingmo walked up and chatted with a waiting soldier for a few moments, showed his credentials, and was quickly waved through.

“Boss, get in.” Outside the airport, a tall man in camouflage rolled down his car window and waved with a smile.

“This is a subordinate from my mercenary group. They’ve been active in C Country recently. We’ll go directly to my base here. It’ll be safer than anywhere else,” Jingmo quickly explained to the group.

After a flight of over ten hours, the group was tired and sleepy. Without much talk, they got into the car and headed for the base. The air was thick with the smell of gunpowder. The once-prosperous city was now shattered and broken. Soldiers on patrol were a common sight, and once the car left the city center, they could see displaced refugees. The entire city was shrouded in sorrow and decay, making even the air feel oppressive.

F Country was also in chaos, but its chaos was entirely different from that of C Country. The damage caused by war was immeasurable.

“War is truly devastating…” Shi Letian had been a special forces soldier before. This wasn’t the first time he had seen such a scene, but each time it weighed heavily on his heart.

“If we can really stop this illegal transaction, it’ll be like ridding the world of a pest. I never thought we’d become heroes one day,” Cheng Meng said with optimistic laughter.

The others knew he was trying to lighten the mood. They wanted to laugh too, but looking at the devastated city, they couldn’t bring themselves to force a smile.

“Don’t feel guilty or sad. We’re not saviors, after all. It’s enough to just do what we’re supposed to do,” Jingmo said with an indifferent expression.

The group fell even more silent. They grew increasingly curious about what this Yandere Little Biscuit had been through over the years to forge his outwardly warm but inwardly cold personality.

After driving for about another hour out of the city, the group arrived at the base. It was filled with fully armed mercenaries. There weren’t many, only about forty, but from their equipment and the aura they exuded, it was clear this was an elite force.

“More people will be arriving to join us tomorrow and the day after. They’ll participate in this operation with us. Everyone’s tired, go get some rest.” After settling Song Heng’s group, Jingmo went to the communication room and contacted Yin Ge remotely to start planning the next steps.

It wasn’t until the sky began to lighten that he, having arranged everything, returned to his quarters to rest. The next day, the three of them got to know a new side of this Yandere Little Biscuit. While training his soldiers, he became dangerous and mature, all his life experiences sealed within his deep, unreadable, glass-like eyes. Away from Shuang Yu, Jingmo’s boyishness completely vanished, replaced by an aura so powerful it was intimidating.

Three days later, Meng Ying arrived in C Country. In terms of hacking skills, Cheng Meng was definitely one of the best. As soon as he arrived, he had cracked C Country’s surveillance system. The moment Meng Ying landed and left the airport, he had already locked onto him. Half an hour later, Meng Ying and his entourage checked into the hotel Ai Jing had arranged for him. Three hours after that, an informant texted Jingmo the specific time and location of the transaction.

“They’ll make the official trade tomorrow. The location is at one of the points controlled by the rebel army. We can’t infiltrate beforehand, so we’ll have to force our way in. Don’t worry, the C Country government will help us by creating a diversion for the rebels.” In the conference room, Jingmo quickly laid out his plan.

The Savu Jungle was now rebel territory. Even with Jingmo’s immense abilities, there was no way to set up in advance. The only option was a direct assault. Fortunately, he had a man among Meng Ying’s people. Once the transaction began, they would make the first move, causing chaos between the two sides. When they intervened afterward, it would be much easier.

“You, kid, are a ruthless person!” Cheng Meng couldn’t help but give Jingmo a thumbs-up.

It had to be said, they were truly in awe of this Yandere Little Biscuit. To describe his strength as terrifying would be an understatement.
