Chapter Index

A cool touch grazed his tailbone. It sent a shiver through Shuang Yu’s entire body, and he instinctively flicked his tail.

“Pervert!” he gritted his teeth, sitting up and cursing while covering his rear.

    “It’s not a dream?”

Chu Chi looked completely bewildered and, without thinking, slapped himself across the face. A crisp sound echoed. The man and the werewolf both froze.

“Wait… y-you, let me process this…” Overwhelmed with shock, Chu Chi raised a hand, tugged at his hair, and began to mutter to himself. “His tail is real, his ears are real… and he drinks blood… Damn it, what kind of monster is this!”

“Who are you calling a monster!” Shuang Yu was displeased and kicked out.

The latter gave him a dazed look, then lifted his pajamas to look at the bruise on his lower abdomen. It hurt. Good. It wasn’t a dream. His expression gradually grew solemn. Chu Chi asked uncertainly, “A-are you a werewolf?”

Isn’t it obvious? Shuang Yu frowned and glared at him.

“You’re a werewolf, but why do you drink blood?” Chu Chi once again asked a soul-searching question.

All the novels say vampires and werewolves are mortal enemies. His mind began to conjure scenes of vampires and werewolves in a fierce, passionate struggle.

So, he’s a half-blood of a werewolf and a vampire? But… aren’t vampires unable to get people pregnant? Interspecies… isn’t there reproductive isolation?!

Shuang Yu could tell what the idiot was thinking from his expression and rolled his eyes in annoyance.

“I’d like to know that too. I’m a werewolf, so why am I drinking blood? Wasn’t it you who gave me the First Embrace?”

“Me? Gave you the First Embrace?!” Chu Chi’s eyes widened. He felt the other’s words were completely absurd. “What kind of crazy logic is that? Why on earth do you think I’m a vampire? I’m human, okay!”

The solemnity in Shuang Yu’s eyes made him realize the gravity of the situation. He quickly shook his head and waved his hands, denying that he was a vampire. “Look, I don’t have sharp fangs, I can be in the sun, and not only can I eat garlic, I love eating garlic!”

Chu Chi pulled open his mouth to show him and even dragged him out of the study and onto the balcony to prove his point. He didn’t look like he was lying at all, and his completely different attitude from yesterday left Shuang Yu confused.

If Chu Yuan isn’t the culprit, then how to explain the wound on his back?!

“Who told you vampires are afraid of sunlight and garlic!” he retorted irritably and, without another word, moved to pull off the other’s pajamas.

“What are you doing, you hooligan?” Chu Chi whined and grumbled but was no match for the other’s strength. His clothes were pulled off in an instant.

On his shoulder blade, the originally faint wound had vanished without a trace. Shuang Yu’s brows furrowed tightly, and he turned him back around. Sure enough, the scratch he’d made on his face yesterday was also gone.

“Yesterday, I scratched your face and your back, but today the marks are all gone. How could a human have such good regenerative abilities?” he sneered and asked coldly.

“My recovery ability is a bit unusual, but I’m really human!” Chu Chi scratched his head, explaining awkwardly.

The latter looked at him as if he were an idiot.

“Anyway, I’m human. If you don’t believe me, just stay by my side. I’ll prove it to you eventually!” To prove his innocence, Chu Chi raised his hand and swore.

A wave of dizziness washed over him. Starving and with his stomach growling, he didn’t have the energy to argue with the other man. “I’m so hungry. I must be anemic after you drank my blood. I don’t like this pervert’s room. I’m going back to mine. Do you want to come?” he asked hesitantly.

What tricks is he playing now? Shuang Yu’s brows knitted together as he stared at him without a word.

“Chu Yuan, I didn’t realize you were such a drama queen.”

“Who the fuck is Chu Yuan? I’m not that scoundrel in gentleman’s guise, okay? My name is Chu Chi!” Being called Chu Yuan, Chu Chi instantly flew into a rage.

He cursed as he pushed Shuang Yu away, stripping off his clothes as he walked. Just the thought of wearing the pervert Chu Yuan’s clothes made his skin crawl as if it were covered in fleas.

    Chu Chi?!

Shuang Yu frowned, recalling the other room he had seen last night. Considering his situation, he eventually transformed back into a wolf and followed. Chu Chi had wanted to slam the door in frustration, but the moment he saw the big fluffy wolf, his eyes lit up and his cheeks instantly flushed red.

So majestic, so imposing, I love it…

Fidgeting awkwardly, he said to the approaching Shuang Yu, “Hmph, I’ve never brought anyone into my room before. You’re the first. You should feel honored…”

“So you don’t have any friends?” Shuang Yu asked naturally, beginning to survey the room after entering.

Unlike Chu Yuan’s staid room, this one was Mediterranean-style, very sunny and boyish. The display cabinet was filled with various models, there was a basketball hoop on the wall, and sports equipment like a basketball, soccer ball, and baseball bat were on the floor. It was just like the impression Chu Chi gave—a sunny, athletic, handsome guy.

“I’m not friendless! I’m very popular, okay… If you don’t know what you’re talking about, then shut up!” Chu Chi was so angry he stomped his foot. He was a perfect example of someone who couldn’t say anything nice.

Leaping onto the sofa and lying down, Shuang Yu coldly watched the man who was hopping mad and asked, “So, what’s the deal with you, Chu Yuan, and Chu Yan?”

“Uhm, have you heard of Dissociative Identity Disorder? We’re different personalities. The one you met yesterday was Chu Yuan. I’m Chu Chi. Except for me, they’re all perverts. You should stay away from them. Especially Chu Yuan. That pervert looks like a gentleman, but he’s actually a freak who likes dissection and necrophilia! You should be glad I woke up, or you would’ve been in for a world of hurt… Wait for me a second, I need to take a shower. I’m covered in Chu Yuan’s perverted agarwood scent. I’m going to puke…” Chu Chi said as he walked towards the bathroom.

Listening to his explanation, Shuang Yu’s brows furrowed again.

[Lord, you’re amazing. The perverts you attract are getting more and more impressive… You’ve even managed to attract a pervert with Dissociative Identity Disorder!] Xiao Ai exclaimed.

    Shuang Yu: “…”

Chu Chi had a rash personality, but he didn’t seem like a liar. He probably wasn’t lying when he said he wasn’t a vampire.

Is it possible that this personality doesn’t know he’s a vampire? Chu Yuan didn’t seem to have vampire habits either. His fighting ability last night was on a completely different level from the lunatic two nights ago. Then… is it that guy named Chu Yan?!

It was a tangled mess. Shuang Yu felt a headache coming on.

[Is it possible that they aren’t the culprits?] Xiao Ai said quietly.

That night, Shuang Yu’s memory was too fuzzy. He could only try his best to review the original owner’s memories. In his mind, the scene from that night replayed. A man in a black bamboo hat barged into the church and attacked without a word. The original owner fought for his life but couldn’t even scratch the man, who disemboweled him directly… Lying in a pool of blood, he clung to his last breath, watching the man walk towards Su Jiaxue, watching him rip her clothes, watching him gently caress her pregnant belly…

That memory was too cruel. The Spirit Bead grew hot again, trembling violently. Affected by the memory, Shuang Yu’s body began to convulse, and he started to dry heave.
