Chapter Index

Shuang Yu had assumed Feng Yan would meet him alone this time. Unexpectedly, Psycho Feng was acting up again. Usually, he looked like he wanted to devour Shuang Yu whole, but today he was suddenly feigning seriousness, notifying all relevant departments to convene in the conference room. Although Shuang Yu was anxious, he knew how to prioritize. Personal matters would have to wait for a private discussion after the work handover was complete.

Soon, more than twenty project personnel filed into the conference room. After Feng Yan entered and took his seat, everyone began to introduce themselves. No one had high hopes for Shuang Yu. This jack-of-all-trades dared to show up alone to give the presentation? Did he really think he was someone important?

“If you’re ready, you may begin your presentation, Young Master Bai,” Feng Yan said to Shuang Yu with a relaxed expression, crossing his legs.

Shuang Yu had a feeling that Psycho Feng was testing him. At a time like this, he had to bite the bullet, even if he wasn’t fully prepared. Fortunately, he had been studying diligently recently, so the outcome wouldn’t be too disastrous.

“These are our company’s design plans for the Xisha Resort Island… The island has a total area of 78,000 hectares, which is rarely seen in our country. After consulting with our designers, we’ve divided the island into two zones: a public area open to everyone, and a VIP area for exclusive access… The VIP area is located on the Southern Peninsula, which has the best environment. It will feature thirty-four rooms, each with a unique design, situated deep underwater, allowing guests to sleep among the schools of fish…”

Shuang Yu stood on the stage, speaking fluently as the PowerPoint slides changed. His back was straight, his voice clear and pleasant, and the confidence in his words made it impossible for anyone to look down on him. It had to be said that the design proposal from Nianmeng Construction was indeed very impressive. Even with the proposal from the architect who had previously designed the FI Building, they had managed to find plenty of faults.

As he finished his presentation, the audience gave him a warm round of applause. Feng Yan rested his chin on one hand, watching him on the stage. His eyes held a rare tenderness, and a stunning charm even crept into the corners of his eyes. After speaking for half an hour, Shuang Yu’s mouth felt dry. While everyone was still discussing, he quickly picked up the bottle of mineral water on the table and drank it all.

The secretary behind him, responsible for serving drinks, saw his empty bottle and quickly walked up with a new one, twisting it open and handing it to him.

“Thank you.” Shuang Yu offered a faint smile and took it.

Their hands brushed unintentionally. In the main seat, Feng Yan’s expression suddenly changed, his icy gaze shooting toward the female secretary. Startled, she hastily withdrew her hand. Shuang Yu hadn’t gotten a firm grip yet, and the bottle slipped from his hand, its contents spilling all over him. The white shirt became slightly transparent after getting wet. At that very moment, Feng Yan’s pupils contracted sharply.

“All of you, get out!” he growled, his gaze turning bone-chillingly cold in an instant.

The crowd had no idea what had happened. They shot to their feet and hurriedly retreated. Shuang Yu, still busy wiping his suit jacket with a handkerchief, was completely oblivious. He looked up blankly, gazing in confusion at the now-empty conference room. Feng Yan didn’t even wait for everyone to leave. He stood up quickly and strode toward him. The force was so great that the wheeled chair flew a long way, crashing against the wall with a bang.

Although he didn’t know what was happening, Shuang Yu keenly sensed the danger. Without a second thought, he stood up to leave, but how could Feng Yan let him get away? He abruptly grabbed his hand and pushed him onto the conference table. Shuang Yu’s back slammed onto the cold surface. Before he could react, the psycho had already leaned over and pressed down on him. Once again, his hands were pinned above his head.

“What is wrong with you now…” he demanded, exasperated.

The other man narrowed his eyes, revealing an extremely dangerous smile.

“You went out dressed like this?” Feng Yan’s pupils were pitch black, hiding a dense fog, the night, an abyss, flames… all sorts of strange emotions that Shuang Yu couldn’t decipher.

“Th-this was an accident! I didn’t plan for anyone to see!” Shuang Yu explained anxiously, afraid that if he didn’t, he would meet a horrible end.

“So, who did you plan to show?” Feng Yan continued to question him, his eyes narrowed.

Wasn’t he just asking the obvious? Shuang Yu glared at him and bit his lower lip, falling silent. That shy expression seemed to cast a soft filter over his stoic face, making him look both bewitching and coyly proud. The beautiful silhouette cast by his long, thick eyelashes made his eyes even more captivating and alluring.

    Thump, thump, thump, thump—

Feng Yan’s heart pounded wildly. All his dissatisfaction and jealousy were instantly soothed. He wore it for him!

Shuang Yu never expected that he would walk into the conference room upright, only to be carried out princess-style an hour and a half later. The widely circulated rumors about the two of them were finally confirmed within the company! When he woke up again, he was on the sofa in Feng Yan’s office. When he had arrived, the sun had just risen, but now, outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, the sun was already setting. Thinking of the absurd events in the conference room not long ago, Shuang Yu couldn’t help but cover his face.

“I feel like if this continues, I might not be able to top him,” he said, doubting himself.

[Isn’t it nice to just lie back and enjoy it?] Xiao Ai asked in confusion.

“Compared to being on the bottom, I prefer being on top…” Shuang Yu mumbled.

He didn’t realize he had accidentally said that out loud. Feng Yan, who was reading a document, narrowed his eyes, a wicked smile playing on his lips.

“You’re awake? It’s just about time to get off work. Let’s go get dinner together.” He pretended not to have heard, closed the file, and spoke to him in a gentle voice.
